Three Months Old!

Happy 3 month birthday, Delaney!  We have had so much fun this month watching you grow. You amaze us every day with something new.  This month you've learned how to roll onto your side, keep yourself propped up on your elbows, sit with support, bat at toys, kick toys, hold a rattle and sometimes bring the rattle to your mouth.  We think you had your first teething experience, but no teeth yet. You now like pacifiers and you also suck your upper lip sometimes, which is really funny.  You hate getting dressed and undressed and often cough to show how uncomfortable you are or just cough to get attention.  Your favorite thing to do is talk.  You talk when you're eating.  You sometimes talk as you're falling asleep and often wake up talking to us.  You love squealing and listening to how loud your voice can get. You skype every day with DeeDee and smile back and talk to her.  The funny thing is that now you also smile and talk to the TV too!  You're really good at engaging others in your conversation, you even bat your eyes (where did you learn this?)!  Your dad doesn't seem to mind that the number of talkative girls in the household has doubled.  Speaking of doubled, you've got quite the double chin, my darling girl!  You continue to top the height (75th percentile) and weight (95th percentile) charts  My favorite moment this month was your first real laugh (you've laughed alot in your sleep, and had little almost-laughs)- we were playing fetch with the dogs and you started giggling.  I hope you were laughing at the dogs and not at your mom's poor coordination (which I hope you didn't inherit)!

You continue to be mostly mellow, yet strong-willed too.  You continue to love to sleep in your swing and each morning (now between 5-6am, last month it was at the decent hour of 7am), you kick your legs, move your head back and forth and talk until someone takes you to your swing where you'll sleep a few more hours.  This week you're also choosing to have 'breakfast in bed' and fuss until you are eating in the side-lying position (The cradle position is so September 2009 apparently)!

Delaney, you bring us joy each and every day.  We think we're so lucky to have such a perfect baby.  We had no idea that we'd love being parents this much and we look forward to all the fun we're going to have with you!

Oh! I miss her! This post is fun to hear about some of the things I have missed! The fake coughs, the giggles, the squeals! I can't wait to experience these with her!
